Welcome to Turtle Tots Lancashire, Cumbria and Craven!
Our award winning, Turtle Tots lessons offer a child led approach to swimming, ensuring that all children learn all the key skills required to swim in a fun, engaging and inclusive way.
We have lessons available in warm pools all across Lancashire, Cumbria, South Lakes and Craven including Barrow-In-Furness, Newby Bridge, Lancaster, Barnoldswick, Threshfield and Keighley.
We’re proud to say our dedicated team of teachers are trained to the highest level possible to ensure that all of the skills and techniques we’re using in the pool are based on the latest research to provide your baby with the best start in the water. Our teachers are tuned into the way your baby communicates at these early stages of their life to make sure we work at their pace and do the things they are happy to do. This is hugely important to us and will help to develop your baby’s life long love of the water.

Hello, my name is Fiona and welcome to Turtle Tots Lancashire, South Lakes and Craven. We offer specialist baby and toddler swimming lessons in various pools across the area. We are currently running classes in Barrow-In-Furness, Newby Bridge, Lancaster, Barnoldswick, Threshfield and Keighley.
Throughout my childhood I was a keen swimmer, and at university I trained as a classical singer – two passions I never thought would be combined. Yet when I joined my first Turtle Tots class with my baby girl Imogen six years ago that is exactly what I found.
The class was relaxed, informative, fun, full of songs and extremely exciting and from that very first class I thought how much I’d love to become a teacher. A year later my son Alistair was born and we relocated to the Lake District and I retrained as a Turtle Tots teacher.
I love what I do, it’s a privilege to teach children and their parents such an important life skill in a safe a fun environment. I am lucky to have a team of expertly trained and extremely passionate teachers who work hard to offer each child then best learning environment and pace of class for their own needs.
The 30-minute lessons allow for a unique bonding opportunity with your little one and the time you spend in the water, both learning together, will enable you to practice all the fundamental skills needed to learn to swim. Your experienced teacher will guide you both through each class, allowing each child to progress at a pace that they are comfortable with.
I am confident that you will fall in love with the classes just as I did but don’t just take my word it come along and see for yourself.

Fiona fell in love with Turtle Tots from her first class with her daughter. She loved the ethos and approach of the lessons and cant wait to share that with you Fiona teaches at The Swan Hotel and The Loyne School.
Becki McBride
Teacher and Admin
Becki started her Turtle Tots journey 4 years ago with her daughter. Becki is looking forward to developing skills, playing games, singing in class, and building relationships with you and your little one. Becki teaches at Loyne Specialist School and Phoenix School.
Sarah Dawson
Teacher
Sarah's love for wanting to teach babies and toddlers to swim came after having her little boy. They started swimming when he was four months old (now nearly 3 years old) and she was hooked. Sarah loves watching their confidence grow, and the pride she see in both the children and their parents when they achieve something new is so rewarding. Sarah says "I love being part of their journey and knowing what I am teaching isn't just fun, but a life skill too" Sarah teaches at Everlast Fitness in Barrow-In-Furness.
Michelle Lambert
Teacher
Michelle's passion for teaching was discovered by taking her two lovely children to our classes. Taking on the role of a Turtle Tots teacher came at a perfect time in her life for Michelle. Teaching brings Michelle real joy. Seeing water confidence, safety awareness and skills develop while sharing the splashy environment with you and your little ones is the best job in the world. Michelle teaches at West Craven and Upper Wharfedale.
Amanda Royal
Teacher
Amanda first took her son swimming with Turtle Tots 3 years ago and from that day she was hooked. She went home that day and enquired about becoming a teacher and has been teaching ever since. She absolutely loves watching the children explore the water and grow in confidence and can't wait to be part of your Turtle Tots journey. Amanda doesn't have any regular classes just now but you might see her covering your classes from time to time.
Louise Armitage

Louise works as our Administrator and you will sometimes see her at the pool at the start of term welcoming everyone. Louise is a keen swimmer herself and was certain that she wanted her children to be strong swimmers too. If you have any queries you can ask Louise at [email protected]
