Welcome to Turtle Tots Newcastle, Gateshead & Northumberland!
We offer fun, friendly, child-led baby and toddler swimming lessons, we teach babies from birth in our hydrotherapy pools and from 12 weeks (or 12lbs in weight) in our other venues and you can join us any time up until they start school.
Our classes introduce your little one to the water and teach them water confidence and safety skills, as well as starting them off with basic swimming techniques. Our lessons are all child-led so they are never forced to do anything they don’t want to do and they can progress at a pace that is right for them. We will always try and find a class that is suitable for their developmental stage (so you don’t have to start at the beginning with your older baby or toddler). We use lots of games, toys and songs, so it is a lovely fun way to spend time with your little person.
Classes are £13 each and last 30 minutes and we take termly booking (approx. 10-week blocks), however you’re welcome to join us at any time during the term. We offer payment plans on your term fees so you can pay monthly, and we also offer up to 2 catch up classes a term where if you can’t make your usual class, we try and find you a different one so you don’t miss out on your swimming time. If you would like to come along and try a class before committing to a block, you are welcome to as we offer free taster sessions (email [email protected] for booking).

Hello! My name is Mel and I warmly welcome you to our Turtle Tots family. I’ve always had a genuine love of being in the water and when I had my little boy, Lucas, I couldn’t wait to take him to baby swim classes. When the opportunity arose to run my own Turtle Tots business, I took a leap of faith and retrained as a swimming instructor and left my nursing career.
Being in the water with your little one is such a magical, fun, bonding experience and as a parent it gives you the reassurance that they learn to be safe and confident in and around water. All our classes are taught to a very high standard and we ensure each child progresses at a pace which is just right for them. Our classes are fun and sociable for both you and your little one.
