Our toddler lessons are a natural progression from our baby swimming lessons. The course has been carefully designed with a balanced set of activities including swimming technique, safety skills, floating, individual and group work including songs and games. However, the emphasis remains on learning through having fun!
Our toddler course is split into three levels based on ability and age, where your child will develop their water confidence, stroke development and learn essential life-saving skills.
For those children whose swimming adventure is just beginning, or who haven’t attended baby swimming lessons, they are very welcome to join our 'Introduction to Toddler' course from 18 months old. This is a specifically developed toddler introduction course, where your child will be introduced to the aquatic environment through structured games and practices in a fun and sociable lesson. These lessons are a stimulating and exciting introduction to water, promoting water confidence, stroke development, life-saving skills and progressing to independent swimming. Once proficient your toddler can join the toddlers who have completed the baby programme.
Our Turtle Tots toddler lessons are a great way to teach your child to swim and will develop your toddler’s water confidence and stroke development, helping them progress to independent swimming.
Lesson numbers are small with the parent accompanying their child until they are able to swim on a woggle unaided.
Toddlers usually show signs of swimming on the surface around two and a half years old, when they have gained the strength to raise their heads to breath. Toddlers who join our programme are frequently able to swim at least 10 metres before they start school and will learn to love swimming for life!
