But at Turtle Tots, we\u2019ve noticed a wonderful trend: more and more grandparents are the ones taking the plunge with their grandchildren \u2013 and we love it as much as they do!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Whether\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0because parents are back at work or simply because Nana and Grandad want their own special &#8220;thing&#8221; with the new addition to the family, grandparents are becoming a huge part of our Turtle Tots\u00a0community.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0a grandparent considering joining us in the pool, or a parent thinking of gifting a term to your own parents, here is why those 30 minutes in the water are so magical for everyone involved.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bonding in a Distraction-Free Zone<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In today\u2019s world,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0rare to get completely uninterrupted time. No phones, no doorbells, no laundry to fold. When a grandparent is in the pool with their grandchild,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0pure, focused connection. The skin-to-skin contact and the need for the baby to rely on their &#8220;grown-up&#8221; for support build a deep level of trust and a unique bond that is different from anything else they do together.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A Chance to &#8220;Un-Parent&#8221;<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Many grandparents tell us that they find swimming lessons a joyful way to play without the pressures of &#8220;parenting&#8221;.\u00a0At Turtle Tots, our lessons are child-centred\u00a0and fun-focused. We use songs, games, and gentle splashes to teach vital skills. For grandparents,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0an opportunity to be the one who provides the fun, the giggles, and the cuddles in the warm water, leaving the &#8220;admin&#8221; of\u00a0parenting\u00a0back on dry land.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Staying Active Together<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Swimming\u00a0isn&#8217;t\u00a0just great\u00a0for the little ones;\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a brilliant, low-impact way for grandparents to stay active. Grandparents often have a calm, patient energy that works beautifully in our classes, helping little ones feel secure as they explore new skills at their own pace.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Making New Friends<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our classes\u00a0aren&#8217;t\u00a0just for the babies\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0for the grown-ups too! We see many grandparents forming their own social circles at the poolside. Sharing the experience with other carers, chatting about\u00a0their grandchild\u2019s\u00a0latest milestones, and\u00a0perhaps grabbing\u00a0a coffee together after class makes the weekly swimming trip a highlight of the social calendar.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Supporting the Modern Family<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With many parents returning to work and childcare costs rising, grandparents are often the &#8220;secret weapon&#8221; that keeps a family running. By taking their grandchild to Turtle Tots, they are providing a huge practical help to parents while ensuring the child\u00a0doesn&#8217;t\u00a0miss out on\u00a0the incredible developmental benefits of early-years swimming.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Why Nana Never Misses\u00a0A\u00a0Lesson<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We love seeing generations come together in the water\u00a0and we can talk about the benefits of multigenerational swimming all day.\u00a0But\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0just take our word for it,\u00a0Here, one of our proud grandma\u2019s, Cathy\u00a0B. from the Swindon area,\u00a0shares\u00a0how Turtle Tots became one of the most rewarding things she has done with her grandchild.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cMy grandchildren \u2014 as with all grandparents \u2014 are simply the\u00a0very best\u00a0at everything they do. Every achievement feels remarkable and worthy of celebration.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Over the last three years, the time I have spent with my granddaughter learning to swim has been among the most rewarding experiences of my life. The Turtle Tots programme introduces water confidence in a slow and carefully measured way, perfectly suited to children of all confidence levels.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">My granddaughter has never been bothered by splashing or going underwater, yet she has taken her time learning how to float. (Still a work in progress) Watching her grow in confidence at her own pace has been a joy.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The half hour we spend together each week in the water has built a wonderful bond of trust between us. It has created a deeply rewarding relationship, giving us precious space in our busy lives to enjoy uninterrupted time together \u2014 learning about one\u00a0another and strengthening the special connection between grandparent and grandchild.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Along the way, we have made new \u201csplash friends\u201d whom we both look forward to seeing at our weekly lessons.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Although this will be our final year at Turtle Tots, as my granddaughter starts school in September, I know we will both treasure the memories we have made during our swimming lessons together.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A Warm Welcome Awaits<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0a grandparent and worried you\u2019ve &#8220;been out of the pool for a while,&#8221;\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0be! Our teachers are experts at making everyone feel comfortable, regardless of their own swimming ability. Our pools are lovely and warm, our groups are small and friendly, and we move at a pace that suits both the baby and the grown-up.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">So, Nana, Grandad\u2014why not grab your swimsuit?
