Our new term will be starting here from w/c 7th September 2020 – Classes currently held on Tuesday & Thursday mornings.

The Pool: The pool area we use is 12m x 3m plus a little extra at one end where the pool curves and a flat depth of 1.2m. The poolside area is nice and warm with seating for you to sit before your class starts. With regards to the poolside area and health and safety, please can you ensure your little ones do not run around the poolside area. We also operate a no shoes on poolside policy, so for non-swimmers we ask them to remove their shoes as you come onto poolside. No phones/cameras/photography allowed at this venue.

Parking: There is free and ample parking on site. Pushchairs and car seats are best to remain in the car, as there is no suitable storage area. You will need a 4 digit code from reception for the exit barrier when you leave.

Changing rooms: On entering the spa reception, go up the couple of steps straight ahead and changing rooms are round the corner to your left. The changing area isn’t overly large but has private showers and communal changing. Benches are available, but the safest place to change your baby is on the floor, so please remember to bring your travel change mat with you. Because of the smaller changing rooms, parents are invited to also change babies on the soft sun loungers at poolside where the air temperature is nice and warm too. Large lockers are available, requiring £1. Please note there are no nappy disposal facilities in the changing room, so please be prepared to take your nappy home for disposal. There is direct access to the pool from the changing rooms.

What to Wear and Bring

At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool we have a strict double nappy policy. All babies and young toddlers have to wear a disposable swim nappy (Huggies little swimmers or Pampers equivalent) OR a re-usable swimming nappy and then on top of that a neoprene swimming nappy (Happy Nappy). These swimming nappies have grippy bits around the legs and waist to prevent anything from ‘sneaking out’! Wearing these in the pool really does give you and us peace of mind that there will be no accidents. For taster sessions we will have over nappies to loan on the day.

Wetsuits/All in One Suits/Baby Wraps are required for all babies under 4 months old, and recommended for babies under 12 months old. This will add a welcome 3°c to the body temperature. Please note – if you know your baby feels the cold, a full wetsuit is recommended rather than a wrap as it provides full body coverage.

Then all that is left is just you and your swimming costume and towels.

Turtle Tots Swim Shop

We are pleased to announce that we have a Turtle Tots shop which stocks plenty of branded swim nappies, wet suits, changing mats, bags and goodies etc.

On your first day any swimwear orders will be ready and waiting for you to collect at poolside.

Refreshments: If you're wanting refreshments after your swim please do feel free to head through to the main hotel and enjoy a coffee & cake or something more substantial :)
