Turtle Tots Salisbury District Blandford & West Hants - Our Pools
Parkwood Health & Fitness
Private deluxe gym and swimming pool in central Salisbury, popular with parents
This fabulous pool is situated in a great location close to the A30 and to the north of Salisbury. The pool is a private members club and as such we swim in a lane so members of the club can swim as well.
Our Covid-19 information leaflet will be sent to you prior to your swimming lessons starting, please wear a face covering at all times when in communal areas and use hand sanitiser on arrival.
Address:Parkwood Health & Fitness, London Road, Salisbury, SP1 3YU
Children are not permitted to use the Jacuzzi which is at the other end of the pool or to enter the pool until instructed to by the teacher. Please note, the poolside can get quite slippy so please do take extra care whilst walking around the poolside.
Photography is limited to once a term and will be planned for the last session of term. Consent for photography was part of the sign up process, we will always check your preferences before taking any pictures.
Any swimwear you've ordered will be waiting for you on poolside with your teacher. On your first day, it is useful if you can turn up at least 15 minutes
in advance of your class to attend the covid briefing as well as pick up any equipment you have ordered.
Little ones up to 12 months will need a wet or warmsuit.
We ask that you don’t eat in the changing rooms and please take disposable nappies home with you - thank you!
Parking: There is an ample car park on site at Parkwood. Visitors need to register their car on arrival for 3 hours free parking.
Changing rooms: Once through reception, the pool is straight in front of you and the changing rooms are situated to the left and the right of the pool when you are facing it (men on the left-hand side, ladies on the right-hand side).
Please ensure you supervise your children at all times, we would recommend you change your children on changing mats on the floor rather than on the benches. All belongings should be put away in lockers which must be cleaned before/after use due to Covid-19. A padlock can be bought to secure the lockers for £4, otherwise, any padlock you have can be used. Car seats can be left in the changing rooms but there is not space for pushchairs unfortunately.
Children need to wear two nappies at all times unless successfully potty trained for at least one year as accidents can still happen long after potty training.
The two types are an under nappy specific to swimming which can be disposable or reusable and an over nappy which must have tight legs and waist to prevent leakage!
In addition, at Parkwood, little ones up to 12 months old need a wetsuit or warmsuit and can only swim at Parkwood once they are three months old or 12 llbs in weight. A swimming costume is not necessary.
We sell a range of essential swim kit such as neoprene nappies, wetsuits and changing mats, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org to order any kit. In addition you will need to purchase a few items for swimming due to Covid-19, a full list of what is required will be sent to you prior to your lessons starting.
Health and Safety: Please see our Covid-19 guidelines ( separate document, available on request and when booked)
Refreshments: There is a cafe on site offering hot drinks and snacks on weekdays dependant on current Covid guidance
