Turtle Tots Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire - Our Pools
The Jaguar Sports Club
The Jaguar Sports Club in Allesley hosts our classes on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
Please note that as this is a members only facility there is a £1 entrance fee to the sports club for non-members, charged by the Sports Club. (To make this easier for you, please bring £10 on your first lesson to cover the 10 weeks) If you wish to join as a member it is £28 for the year – just ask at reception for a form.
Pool timetables and term dates: Our new term will be starting here from w/c 7th September 2020 - Classes currently held on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
The Pool: The Jaguar Sports Club measures 6 x 12 meters and runs at approximately at 30-32.0 degrees, with a depth of 1m in the shallow end that we use, to 2.3m in the deep end. For Health and Safety reasons we ask parents not to carry their child into the water down the vertical steps. So for babies, please could you lay them on the poolside (feet facing the water) and for the older babies and toddlers sitting them up on poolside. Parents are to sit close to their child and make a slide entrance into the pool, then pick up or help your little one into the water.
With regards to the poolside area and health and safety, please can you ensure your little ones do not run around the poolside area. We also operate a no shoes on poolside policy, so for non-swimmers we ask them to remove their shoes as you come onto poolside or wear the shoe covers provided. No phones/cameras/photography equipment allowed at this venue.
Parking: There is free parking on site. Access to the sports club is opposite the tennis courts to the right of the main entrance. With both steps up and down, it is advised that pushchairs are not brought in to the building, and due to limited space when classes are changing over, car seats are also best left in the car.
Changing rooms: Turn left at the reception desk and the changing rooms are down the corridor on your right. (Female changing to the left, male to the right). They are communal changing rooms with communal showers and one toilet. In addition, there are benches all around the changing rooms however the safest place to change your baby is on the floor. We recommend you bring your travel changing mat with you, although there is a baby changer available to use.
There are no lockers in the changing rooms, so please bring any valuables to poolside where they will be in view.
On your first day any swimwear orders will be ready and waiting for you to collect poolside.
What to Wear and Bring
At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool we have a strict double nappy policy. All babies and young toddlers have to wear a disposable swim nappy (Huggies little swimmers or Pampers equivalent) OR a re-usable swimming nappy and then on top of that a neoprene swimming nappy (Happy Nappy). These swimming nappies have grippy bits around the legs and waist to prevent anything from ‘sneaking out’! Wearing these in the pool really does give you and us peace of mind that there will be no accidents. For taster sessions we will have over nappies to loan on the day.
Wetsuits/All in One suits/Baby Wraps are required for all babies under 4 months old, and recommended for babies under 12 months old. This will add a welcome 3°c to the body temperature. Please note – if you know your baby feels the cold, a full wetsuit is recommended rather than a wrap as it provides full body coverage.
Then all that is left is just you and your swimming costume and towels.
Turtle Tots Swim Shop
We are pleased to announce that we have a Turtle Tots shop which stocks plenty of branded swim nappies, wet suits, changing mats, bags and goodies etc.
On your first day any swimwear orders will be ready and waiting for you to collect at poolside.
Health and Safety: Please refer to your Welcome email for all Health & Safety Guidelines.
Refreshments: Refreshments are available in the Social Club should you wish to enjoy a coffee and a snack with other parents after your class.
