Turtle Tots South Coast & Solent - Our Pools
Locks Heath School
This is a beautiful pool with free parking and great male and female changing facilities. The pool is 29-30 degrees, therefore, we do recommend a warming wet suit for all babies and toddlers, you can purchase these from us and it will be brought to your first class, this will keep your baby 1-2 degrees warmer than the water they are swimming in. Note: Please be aware that this is a shared pool which means there will be two classes at either end of the pool at the same time
Address: Locks Heath School, Warsash Road, Locks Heath, SO31 9NZThis is a beautiful pool with free parking and great male and female changing facilities. It is advised that you feed your baby 1 hour before swimming. Our lessons are energetic and your babies are much more comfortable having had time to digest their last feed. They will become very hungry after swimming so be prepared for a big feed afterwards and long sleep.
Spectators
We welcome spectators watching our classes, however, as space on the poolside is quite small and there is no designated seating, we do ask that you bring no more than one person at a time and to please let us know before each class. Please note that there are no outdoor shoes, food or drinks allowed on poolside. Spectators are asked not to walk around the poolside as this can be distracting for the babies in the class. Please note that we do not allow photos or videos to be taken while the lesson is taking place.
Photography
Due to the new GDPR regulations, we are unable to allow photographs to be taken during lessons due to not being able to control who else is in that photograph. We are aware lots of you do enjoy taking your child’s picture and we do not want to take this away from you, I think we do need to find a balance and asking for photos to only be taken outside of the lesson is a fair request, as we have a responsibility to ensure all of our swimmers feel safe and enjoy their time with us.
Prices
£13.50 per class payable termly
The cost of our 10-week terms is £135.
This is payable either in full at booking or a £45 deposit paid at booking and then the rest of the course fee split into monthly payments over 2-3 months via direct debit. If selecting to pay by direct debit you are still committing to a full course and the whole amount is still payable.
Note: It is possible to still join a term halfway through, please get in touch to discuss your options.
Note: Please be advised to remove your shoes at the entrance, you cannot wear your shoes in the changing rooms or poolside.
There are benches in the changing rooms but due to safety concerns, we recommend you purchase one of our Turtle Tots changing mats to change baby on the floor. Please do not leave your baby unattended on the benches at any time.
Note: Please wait in the changing rooms until your class starts, it can be quite distracting for the previous class, so we appreciate your understanding.
Please use a warming wet suit for babies under 12 months old.
At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool, all babies must wear a disposable swim nappy and then on top of that a neoprene swim nappy (this can be purchased through us, we will bring it along to your first class). The neoprene construction provides a soft, stretchy, impermeable shell, while the close-fitting waist and leg hems offer a good seal around the tummy and legs. All of this adds up to no rubbing or chaffing of delicate skin, and peace of mind that any little accidents are contained. A few weeks into the programme you may want to bring clear googles so that you can see your baby underwater. Then it is just your swimming costume, towels, a bag for wet clothes, etc.
Note: If you have ordered a nappy/wet suit/changing mat/ it will be at your first class for you to collect.
