This is a private pool with female changing facilities and male changing tents poolside. We do recommend a warming wet suit for all babies under 12 months, you can purchase from us and will be brought to your first class, this will keep your baby 1-2 degrees warmer than the water they are swimming in.
Note: Deep end of the pool must NOT be used under any circumstances and your teacher will point this out at the start of your lessons. Poolside can become slippery and very wet - please take caution.
Pool timetables and term dates: Saturday and Wednesday mornings
It is advised that you feed your baby 1 hour before swimming. Our lessons are energetic and your babies are much more comfortable having had time to digest their last feed. They will become very hungry after swimming so be prepared for a big feed afterwards and long sleep.
Spectators - We welcome spectators watching our classes and there is excellent seating available, however, space on the poolside is quite small and the seating is limited, we do ask that you bring no more than one person at a time. Spectators are asked to sit on the seating provided and asked not to walk around the poolside as this can be distracting for the babies in the class, and poolside becomes very wet and slippery. Please note that we do not allow photos or videos to be taken while the lesson is taking place.
Note: There are no outdoor shoes, food or drinks allowed on poolside or the changing rooms.
Photography - Due to the new GDPR regulations, we are unable to allow photographs to be taken during lessons due to not being able to control who else is in that photograph. We understand some may want to have a photo of their child so we ask you to do so before or after your lesson, so those not wanting to be in the picture can remove themselves from the pool.
Note: Poolside does become very wet due to people getting in and out of the pool, please ensure you walk very carefully around to ensure you do not slip.
£13.50 per class payable termly
The cost of our 10-week terms is £135.
This is payable either in full at booking or a £45 deposit paid at booking and then the rest of the course fee split into monthly payments over 2-3 months via direct debit. If selecting to pay by direct debit you are still committing to a full course and the whole amount is still payable.
Note: It is possible to still join a term halfway through, please get in touch to discuss your options.
Parking: There are parking restrictions with this pool as it is at someone's home, we must adhere to the owners request that we do not park on their drive or the entrance to their drive. There are plenty of spaces on the road.
Once you have parked on the street head over to the right of the driveway and there is a small door to the left of the garage. This is the entrance to the pool please do not use the front door, we must respect the owner's privacy.
Changing rooms: Nwodo Villa has a female changing room and there are male changing tents behind a screen poolside, we recommend you purchase one of our Turtle Tots changing mats (or alternative) to change your baby on the floor. Please do not change your baby poolside as it is very wet, and we want to reduce disturbance to the class in the pool.
Note: Please take care around poolside as it gets very wet, ensure you do not carry your baby around poolside if possible, due to the risk of slipping.
Please be mindful of where you leave your belongings and ensure you are not taking up seating space with your bags. Please leave all your belongings either in the female changing rooms or behind the screens provided. Turtle Tots do not take any responsibility for your valuables. All footwear, and pushchairs including that of spectators, must be left in the hall and not worn at poolside. Please ensure you use the shower, if possible, in the changing room to rinse before getting into the pool.
Please ensure you use a warming warmer suit for babies under 12 months old.
At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool all babies must wear a disposable swim nappy (Huggies Little Swimmers, Tesco Swim Nappy, etc.) and then on top of that a neoprene swim nappy (this can be purchased through us, we will bring it along to your first class). The neoprene construction provides a soft, stretchy, impermeable shell, while the close-fitting waist and leg hems offer a good seal around the tummy and legs. All of this adds up to no rubbing or chaffing of delicate skin, and peace of mind that any little accidents are contained. A few weeks into the programme you may want to bring clear googles so that you can see your baby underwater. Then it is just your swimming costume, towels, a bag for wet clothes and a changing mat.
Note: If you have ordered a nappy, warmer suit or changing mat. it will be at your first class for you to collect.
