This is a beautiful hydro pool with excellent spectator viewing and on-street parking. You will not require a wet suit or warmer at this pool as it is a very warm temperature and your baby will be warm enough here.
Address:The Bathing Pool, 6 Cambridge Road, PO13 9DH
Pool temperature: 33-34 degrees (hydro)℃
Pool depth: 1m - 1.45m (deepest in the middle of the pool)
Pool timetables and term dates: Thursday afternoons
It is advised that you feed your baby 1 hour before swimming. Our lessons are energetic and your babies are much more comfortable having had time to digest their last feed. They will become very hungry after swimming so be prepared for a big feed afterwards and long sleep.
Spectators - We welcome spectators watching our classes and there is some seating available, however, space poolside is quite small and the seating is limited, we do ask that you bring no more than one person at a time. Spectators are asked to sit on the seating provided and asked not to walk around the poolside as this can be distracting for the babies in the class. Please note that we do not allow photos or videos to be taken while the lesson is taking place.
Note: There are no outdoor shoes, food or drinks allowed on poolside or the changing rooms.
Photography - Due to the new GDPR regulations, we are unable to allow photographs to be taken during lessons due to not being able to control who else is in that photograph. We understand some may want to have a photo of their child so we ask you to do so before or after your lesson, so those not wanting to be in the picture can remove themselves from the pool.
Note: Poolside does become very wet due to people getting in and out of the pool, please ensure you walk very carefully around to ensure you do not slip.
£13.50 per class payable termly
The cost of our 10-week terms is £135.
This is payable either in full at booking or a £45 deposit paid at booking and then the rest of the course fee split into monthly payments over 2-3 months via direct debit. If selecting to pay by direct debit you are still committing to a full course and the whole amount is still payable.
Note: It is possible to still join a term halfway through, please get in touch to discuss your options.
Parking: There are parking restrictions with this pool as it is at someone's home, we must adhere to the owners request that we do not park in the space opposite the drive, next to the alley or blocking other drives.
There are plenty of spaces to park on the road.
Once you have parked on the street head over to the driveway and follow this down the side of the house where you will see a set of double glass doors on the left. This is the entrance to the pool, please do not use the front door, we must respect the owner's privacy.
Please note: you are required to sign in at the entrance and agree to the pool rules.
Changing rooms: The bathing pool has two showers/changing rooms to utilise and there is also a foyer to use to get changed. We recommend you purchase one of our Turtle Tots changing mats (or alternative) to change your baby on the floor. Please do not change your baby poolside as it is very wet, and we want to reduce disturbance to the class in the pool.
Please be mindful of where you leave your belongings and ensure you are not taking up seating space with your bags poolside. Turtle Tots do not take any responsibility for your valuables left on the premises during your lessons. All footwear, including that of spectators, must be left in the hall/entrance and not worn poolside.
Note: Please ensure you shower before and after your lesson
At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool, all babies must wear a disposable swim nappy and then on top of that a neoprene swim nappy (this can be purchased through us, we will bring it along to your first class). The neoprene construction provides a soft, stretchy, impermeable shell, while the close-fitting waist and leg hems offer a good seal around the tummy and legs. All of this adds up to no rubbing or chaffing of delicate skin, and peace of mind that any little accidents are contained. A few weeks into the programme you may want to bring clear googles so that you can see your baby underwater. Then it is just your swimming costume, towels, a bag for wet clothes and changing mat, please read further here.
Note: If you have ordered a nappy or changing mat. it will be at your first class for you to collect.
