This is a very warm pool therefore babies do not require a wet suit or warmer and must only wear a neoprene nappy over their swim nappy. The pool air atmosphere is also very warm. This pool has excellent changing facilities for both male and females.

Pool temperature: 32 - 33 degrees℃
Pool depth: 1.3 metre (swimmers to be 5ft 2" and above)

It is advised that you feed your baby 1 hour before swimming. Our lessons are energetic and your babies are much more comfortable having had time to digest their last feed. They will become very hungry after swimming so be prepared for a big feed afterwards and long sleep.
Spectators - We welcome spectators watching our classes, however, as space on the poolside is very small and the seating is limited, we do ask that you bring no more than one person at a time and to please let us know before each class. Please note that there are no outdoor shoes, food or drinks allowed on poolside. Spectators are asked to sit on the seating provided and asked not to walk around the poolside as this can be distracting for the babies in the class.
Note: We do not allow photos or videos to be taken while the lesson is taking place.
Photography - Due to the new GDPR regulations, we are unable to allow photographs to be taken during lessons due to not being able to control who else is in that photograph.
Parking: This pool is located on a road with some street parking, the Hotel also has limited parking out the front entrance. You will find you need to park in the historic dockyard multi-storey car park, located opposite the hotel, behind the subway. There are plenty of spaces in this car park and provides a cut through to the road where the Hotel is located, by the side of Subway.
Your parking receipt/card is to be taken to the reception after your lesson and they will stamp it. Then you must show the attendant in the kiosk of the car park before you pay, to receive 50% off your parking fee.
Changing rooms: Royal Maritime Club & Hotel have both male and female changing facilities, which are accessed through a communal lobby area. There are benches in the changing room but we recommend you purchase one of our Turtle Tots changing mats (or alternative) to change your baby on the floor.
We have sole use of this pool at this time, but you will need to lock your belongings in the lockers for £1 deposit, Turtle Tots do not take any responsibility for your valuables. All footwear, including that of spectators, must be left in the changing room and strictly not worn at poolside or in the changing rooms. Please ensure you either remove your shoes in the changing room or use the blue overshoes provided. It is advised you shower at the shower poolside, to rinse before getting into the pool. Please park pushchairs and buggies in the foyer before entering the changing rooms, strictly no pushchairs beyond this point.
Note: Please change your baby on the floor or changing tables provided.
At Turtle Tots in order to prevent accidents in the pool all babies must wear a disposable swim nappy (Huggies Little Swimmers, Tesco Swim Nappy, etc.) and then on top of that a neoprene swim nappy (this can be purchased through us, we will bring it along to your first class). The neoprene construction provides a soft, stretchy, impermeable shell, while the close-fitting waist and leg hems offer a good seal around the tummy and legs. All of this adds up to no rubbing or chaffing of delicate skin, and peace of mind that any little accidents are contained. A few weeks into the programme you may want to bring clear googles so that you can see your baby underwater. Then it is just your swimming costume, towels, a bag for wet clothes, etc.
Note: If you have ordered a nappy or changing mat it will be at your first class for you to collect.
