Turtle Tots aquatic training course
Every Turtle Tots teacher completes the world class Turtle Tots training programme. After shadowing hours of Turtle Tots lessons, they attend the rigorous Turtle Tots aquatic training course. This fully immersive residential course explores the Turtle Tots programme in depth. Days are spent in the pool learning about child development, techniques, activities and stroke development, while evenings are used to consolidate the knowledge learnt, and also to learn about health and safety.
Committed to being at the forefront
Following the Turtle Tots aquatic course every teacher teaches supported assessed lessons to ensure that they are delivering lessons with the Turtle Tots magic!
However, it doesn't end there! We are always committed to being at the forefront of the baby and toddler swimming industry and every teacher with requisite experience also completes the Swimming Teachers' Association's Level 3 Diploma in Baby and Pre-School teaching. The qualification expands our teachers' knowledge by providing evidence from research done over the last two decades into child psychology and neuroscience, which has led to changing theories of how children learn.
Professional Development
Aside from all this, there is a strong focus on continued professional development and we hold regular Teacher Development Days.
Our Turtle Tums teachers attend a bespoke aqua-natal yoga course, developed specifically for Turtle Tots by the Birthlight Trust. Birthlight has over 30 years' experience of promoting an intergated approach to pregnancy, birth, babyhood and parenting with yoga.
