From the first dip of the toe, Turtle Tots is a magical journey between parent and child, developing water confidence, safety, and swimming skills through our unique and multi award-winning, child-led swimming programme.
Turtle Tots East Surrey is run by Charlotte Hollands. Along with her team of world-class swimming teachers, they offer swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, 3 and 4 year olds, as well as Turtle Tums Aquanatal Yoga classes, from their lovely warm pool facilities in Croydon, East Grinstead, Carshalton, and Chipstead.
For Babies, Toddlers, 3 and 4 year olds, our supportive and child-led swimming lessons offer a wonderful bonding experience, packed with songs and games to ensure that you and your little one enjoy your time in the pool together and develop a life-long love of the water. Our programme is taught by our fully qualified and highly skilled teachers who are trained to the highest possible standards. They have an in-depth understanding of early years communication and are attuned to your child’s needs to ensure that every skill is taught at a pace that is right for them.

I launched Turtle Tots in January 2014 and have not looked back since.
I began teaching in the pool whilst nannying for a wonderful family with three fab children who were all very good swimmers. Now, 10 years later I have two Turtles of my own, Thea who is just 7 years old and Heidi, born just before lockdown, who is turning 4 years old.
I am based in the office covering all admin duties and teaching our wonderful little swimmers throughout the week. I hope to meet you at your little one in the pool very soon. -

In January 2014 I began Turtle Tots with my then 3 yr old daughter & son of 6m. Our swimming day very quickly became our favourite day of the week!
Since then I now two more of my own turtles to add to the pack, another son who is now 4 and a baby daughter who will soon be turning One.Watching all 4 of my children build their confidence in the pool over the years, learning new skills & having so much fun filled me with complete joy. I was so proud when the older ones started swimming independently at such young ages!
I became a Turtle Tots teacher in April 2015 and absolutely adore every second of it! I’ve since introduced baby no:4 to the water and will be returning to teaching in the new year 🙂 -

I became a Turtle Tots teacher in 2018. This was a complete career change for me as I have always had a desk job but never truly fitted in or enjoyed my job.
I can honestly say being a Turtle Tots teacher is the BEST and most FULFILLING job ever. I adore working with children and seeing carers and their little ones connect and enjoy the water. Its moments like these that makes my job so very special. -

Working with children has always been my childhood dream, but after arriving here from South Africa 17 years ago, I needed to take an office role to get myself settled knowing someday I’d make the dream a reality. Fast forward to 2019, I had my beautiful son and knew I had to find a way to reach my career goals. Water safety and swimming skills are very important to me and I decided to get qualified as a swim teacher! I was so excited to start this journey but sadly it came to a halt when the pandemic hit. I spent that time researching swim schools I could approach and no surprise Turtle Tots came up as a clear winner. Their baby led approach to swimming, their support to new carers as they explore this wonderful activity with their children, their focus on loving the water and having fun was everything I believed made happy, safe and accomplished swimmers. I reached out to Charlotte and was delighted to be able to join her team in April 2022. If you ask the parents/carers what line I say the most in my classes it’s “I love my job” and it couldn’t be more true! Watching carers bond and children play is an absolute joy and I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful team.

Definitely recommend Turtle Tots! We’ve been taking our 3-year old since she was a baby, and she loves it. She’s now very water confident and visibly learns a little more swimming fundamentals each week. The coaches throw in a lot of themed programs (e.g. make up “collect all the Easter eggs” swimming game) which the kids get a kick out of. The pool at Rutherford school is very warm which is a bonus.

We have been going to swimming lessons with Turtle Tots since the little one was around 6 months, shes now nearly 2.
We have the best time. Our teacher is really amazing, she’s great with the kids & such a fabulous person, my little girl loves her. It’s so rewarding seeing her confidence grow and she loves getting in the pool.Anonymous -
We have been swimming with turtle tots for the last 15 months and loved every minute of our journey! My 2 year old has learnt so much and is happy and confident in the water which is lovely to see and this is all thanks to the wonderful lessons we have attended with Abi. She is such a great teacher, gets to know all the children and mummy’s really well and makes you feel so at ease. Hugo loves swimming with turtle tots!

The instructor is fantastic and her enthusiasm makes the class. She has really helped us (the parents) learn how to help our 6 month old be comfortable in the water and give us useful tips along the way.

My son absolutely loves Turttle Tots, we were at another swim school previously however since coming here he’s come on leaps and bounds and absolutely loves swimming now. He has such a great teacher called Mandy who really encourages all the kids and I think she’s really helped his confidence grow

Turtle tots have been brilliant at helping my son build up his confidence in the water. Lessons are enjoyable and the instructors have been fantastic, encouraging the little ones whilst also giving really useful advice to adults to help aid the childrens development in the pool

We absolutely love Turtle Tots swimming lessons. Both my toddler and baby attend lessons and they are the best we have tried (toddler previously attended other lessons). The lessons are nice and small and the teachers are amazing – they are enthusiastic and clearly enjoy the job. If you miss a lesson you get the chance to do a catch up lesson too. So happy with our lessons.
