From the first dip of their toe, Turtle Tots is a magical journey between parent and child, developing water confidence, safety, and swimming skills through our unique and multi award-winning, child-led swimming programme.
Turtle Tots Gloucestershire is run by Jessica Allsop and Jo Wallace. Along with her team of world-class swimming teachers, they offer swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, 3 and 4 year olds from their lovely pool facilities across Stroud, Gloucester and Cheltenham.
Our supportive and child-led swimming lessons offer a wonderful bonding experience, packed with songs and games to ensure that you and your little one enjoy your time in the pool together and develop a life-long love of the water. Our programme is taught by our fully qualified and highly skilled teachers who are trained to the highest possible standards. They have an in-depth understanding of early years communication and are attuned to your child’s needs to ensure that every skill is taught at a pace that is right for them.

Jessica
Hi, I’m Jessica and mum of 2 and been teaching for over 10yrs. Ive always had a love for the water and i have fond memories swimming with my sister when i was young pretending to be mermaids every weekend at the local leisure centre. I also love frozen water and i’m a keen skier.
Teaching swimming is the BEST job, its amazing seeing a child progress and build in confidence from attending our lessons. -

Hi I’m Jo. I have been teaching at Turtle Tots for over 10 years. The thing i love most about being a swim teacher is helping babies, toddlers and parents gain confidence in the water. Seeing the little ones progress at their own pace is magical! I have 2 children who love the water, i started Turtle Tots with my eldest when we was just 10 weeks old.
In my spare time i enjoy running, yoga and relaxing with a good book. -
Charlotte
Charlotte has been a swimming teacher for over 8 years and always brings lots of fun to the lessons. She has 2 girls who have both been through our Turtle Tots programme and are super swimmers.

Matthew
Hi I’m Matthew. My turtle tots journey began 5 years ago as a new parent introducing my son into the water. At this time the guidance and support from the instructors, as well as the ethos of being baby led has allowed my son to flourish and grow into a safe and confident swimmer. Our lessons have became the favourite time of the week.
When the opportunity came to join the team it allowed me to combine both my love for the water and my new found passion for teaching. To see and be a part of our children’s journeys as they develop and grow in confidence is the best job I’ve ever had. -
Rosie
Rosie has 2 young children and both currently swim with us at Turtle Tots. She also works part time in the pool at additional needs school.

Sarah
You will see Sarah helping out at venues poolside at the start of the new terms showing you all where to go. She also helps out in the pool at the Chamwell Centre and with our Academy classes (without parents) at St Edwards.
Sarah has experience as a teaching assistant in primary schools and so is great with young children. -
Millie
Hi my name is Millie and I am a mother of 2 little turtles and been teaching for 5yrs. I was first introduced to Turtle tots when I brought my eldest along to the lessons when he was just a baby. I instantly fell in love with the baby led approach to swimming and knew it was something I would love to be a part of. It is so special to be able to facilitate other parents to enjoy the water with their little ones and create magical memories, all while building little ones’ confidence and teaching life saving skills in the water. I have always loved the water and have amazing memories of holidays swimming in the sea with my family.
Millie is currently on maternity leave, we look forward to seeing Millie back in the pool soon.

Joanne is an experienced swim teacher specialising in students with additional needs. She brings a wealth of experience teaching children 5yrs+ and has joined Turtle Tots to broaden her learning to encompass baby & preschool.

The lessons are always fun and are taken at the children’s pace. Our instructor Matt is always so friendly and enthusiastic with the children and explains the development side of swimming clearly. Definitely recommend turtle tots!

I have taken both my daughters to turtle class lessons and both, as babies and toddlers, have loved the classes and the teachers. The classes are completely child-led and fun but also giving children important safety and life skills in the water. Highly recommend.

We’ve taken our daughter to baby swim lessons with Turtle Toys since she was 8 weeks old and have loved every lesson. Jo is really knowledgeable and great with the little ones, really following their lead whilst supporting us as parents to interact with and help our daughter gain confidence in the water. Would recommend to anyone considering lessons for their little one!

Me and my baby absolutely love this class! Maybe me more so, the instructor is lovely and so are all the other parents who are in my group! We can’t wait to start level 2. Highly recommend as swimming is so important for them to learn!

My children love their swimming lessons with turtle tots, both have been going from 3 months old and my eldest is nearly 4. Fun lessons that are child led at their pace, which has built up their confidence in the water, but have and are learning the key safety skills all children should know.

We have been attending since my daughter was 4 months old, she is now 20 months and we absolutely love our lessons every week.
All the teachers are some of the friendliest people I have ever met, its rare to come across that these days. You can tell everyone is so passionate about teaching. We always leave with a spring in our step after having so much fun!
We look forward to our Thursday slot every week and couldn’t reccomend this swim school enough.

Have used Turtle Tots from Aqua-natal to Toddler sessions. All the teachers have a fantastic nature with the kids. Those that need extra time and encouragement get it and those that pick things up quickly are challenged.
It’s all run at your child’s pace which is so encouraging for the kids.
It’s fun and my son loves it. Songs, themed lessons and dedicated sessions where you can get some pics to show the grandparents.
