Celebrating the people who make every splash count
Welcome to the home of the very first International Baby Swimming Teacher Week.
From the 1st to the 7th March 2026, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the incredible teachers who help little ones build water confidence, learn vital water safety skills, and experience magical moments in the pool with their families.
Their passion creates memories that last a lifetime and for this one week, we want to say a huge thank you to them all.

Celebrating the heart behind every splash
International Baby Swimming Teacher Week is a new global celebration dedicated to recognising the incredible teachers who introduce babies and toddlers to the water.
Every week, thousands of teachers help families experience the joy, connection, and lifelong benefits of learning to swim. This special week is our chance to say thank you — to the people who teach with patience, passion and purpose.
Baby swimming teachers do so much more than teach a skill. They nurture confidence, trust, and a love of the water that can last a lifetime.
Through gentle guidance, songs, play, and reassurance, these teachers create safe and joyful spaces where little ones — and their parents — can thrive.
Why we celebrate
They help families build essential water safety awareness
Baby swimming teachers are key in building essential water safety awareness. They empower families by teaching critical safety skills and fostering a crucial respect for water from the very start. By providing a safe, fun, and structured environment, these educators lay the foundational, life-saving skills needed for a lifetime of water confidence and safety for both baby and parent.
They support early physical, emotional, and social development
Baby swimming teachers play a pivotal role in supporting holistic early development. Physically, the water provides a unique environment where babies can freely explore movements, strengthening their muscles and improving coordination and balance. Emotionally and socially, structured lessons offer a fantastic opportunity for parent-child bonding through close, positive interaction, while the group setting gently introduces babies to their peers, fostering early social skills and boosting their confidence in a stimulating and secure environment.
They foster strong parent-child bonds through shared experiences
Baby swimming teachers specialise in strengthening parent-child bonds through focused, positive shared experiences. The water removes daily distractions, allowing parents and babies to engage in close physical contact and playful interaction. This secure, joyful setting builds mutual trust and emotional connection. By celebrating new achievements together, teachers help cultivate powerful, lasting memories that deepen the secure attachment between parent and child.
They build community and connection through every lesson
Baby swimming teachers expertly help families build community and connection with every lesson. Sharing the pool experience creates a supportive, social environment where parents meet others at the same stage. Teachers facilitate this interaction, offering a welcoming space for shared advice and encouragement. These group sessions foster lasting friendships and provide new parents with a vital, supportive network that extends well beyond the pool.
