Turtle Tots raises over £20,000 for Meningitis Now charity

Turtle Tots has raised over £20,000 for Stroud-based charity Meninigitis Now as a result of their first ever Splash Now campaign.

16 franchisees from across the UK taking part in week-long Splash Now swimming lessons, involving their Turtle Tots families in lessons and activities to raise money for Meningitis Now. Meningitis Now is a charity dedicated to raising lifesaving awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis with the families of babies and toddlers, the group most at risk of the disease.

All the Turtle Tots babies and toddlers who took part received a special Splash Now swimming badge and certificate. The top fundraisers also received a Turtle Tots goody bag.

Mark Jefferies, Senior Partnerships Fundraiser for Meninigitis Now, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to receive such fantastic support from Turtle Tots. Every one of the franchisees who took part were so positive and made their classes extra special by arranging activities like cake sales and fancy dress. Hundreds of children and parents from across the UK had an absolute ball as a result.

Not only will the money raised make a big difference to our ability to provide free meningitis support services, Turtle Tots distributed over 2,000 of our Signs and Symptoms cards and helped to promote vital awareness of this devastating disease.”

Caroline Sparks, Turtle Tots’ Co-founder, added: “We were really pleased to support Meningitis Now for the first time this year. The commitment of our franchisees and parents has been truly fantastic. We are already looking forward to making next year’s Splash Now campaign even bigger and better!”
