Hopefully, the our answers will help you prepare yourself and your little one for their first watery adventure.

  1. Is is safe for babies to swim?

Baby swimming can be a safe and enjoyable activity when proper safety advice is followed. Babies can begin swimming as soon as you are comfortable to do so. Lessons should be led by a qualified swimming instructor with the baby’s parent or carer always present.

Most swimming facilities require babies to wear a snug-fitting swim nappy to prevent accidents leaking into the water. 4. How long should baby swimming sessions last?

Babies may tire quickly in the water, so it’s important to gauge their comfort level and start with just a short swim session if you are planning on heading to the pool yourself. Our Turtle Tots swimming lessons last for 30 minutes but we encourage all our parents to watch for signs of tiredness, especially in very young babies.
