From the first dip of the toe, Turtle Tots is a magical journey between parent and child, developing water confidence, safety, and swimming skills through our unique and multi award-winning, child-led swimming programme.
Turtle Tots Staffordshire is run by Sam Taker. She offers our award-winning swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, 3 and 4 year olds from their lovely warm pool facilities in Stoke-on-trent, Brewood, Telford, and Stafford.
For babies and toddlers up to the age of 5, our supportive and inspiring child-led swimming programme offers a wonderful bonding experience, packed with songs and games to ensure that you and your little one enjoy your time in the pool together and develop a life-long love of the water. As they progress, our independent lessons focus on developing their confidence and technique. Our programme is taught by our fully qualified and highly skilled teachers who are trained to the highest possible standards and are attuned to your child’s needs to ensure that every skill is taught at a pace that is right for them.

Hi, I’m Sam,
Im a Mum of 2 who has always had a life long dream of owning my own swim school. I used to swim competitively in my younger days and have a LOVE for the water. Both of my children have swam from just weeks old, and I also have a dog who ironically absolutely hates the water.
Having worked my whole life, initially in sales and hospitality, serving in the RAF as an RAF Police woman for 5 years, working in a nursery and primary schools to gain my child care qualifications. I finally decided 8 years ago that I wanted to pursue my passion of teaching children and love for swimming.
I took the plunge and gained my swim teaching qualifications. I have since then worked for 5 different swim schools over the years, in Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Cyprus and Staffordshire & Cheshire. However, on settling back in the Staffordshire area, it was Jan 2023 when I started looking to turn my dreams into a reality.
I looked into several options yet I fell in love with the ethos and approach of the Turtle Tots way and decided this was most definitely the swim school for me. I bought my franchise in the Staffordshire area, my home ground, in July 2023.
This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I am so proud of my swim school and each and every child who swims with me. My passion and dedication for teaching children a skill for life, which may one day save their life, makes my Turtle Tots journey so rewarding.
I cannot wait to share all the milestones and memories with you and your little turtles through your very own Turtle Tots journey.
Outside of my Turtle Tots world, I love nothing more than spending time with my family and going on lots of adventures with them, making life long memories.
I teach at all venues and I’m ready to dive in and meet you all with a smile.

Sam has been an amazing instructor, she has helped my child gain confidence in the water, even though she was previously terrified. Now, she enjoys making bubbles in the bathtub, submerging herself in the pool and using the woggles in different ways. I do recommend this class for those parents who want their children to properly learn how to swim!
